Materials

The Materials Department at PHA has two components: the Inventory Department and the Fixed Asset Department. Both departments track the flow of building materials used by PHA.

  1. Inventory Department is made up of the central warehouse on Bartram Avenue, the Force Account warehouse at 13th and Lehigh, (2) Scattered Sites stockrooms, (8) manned stockrooms and (27) unmanned stockrooms at various sites around the city. This area includes 33 people providing various services.
  2. The Fixed Asset Department includes one Fixed Asset Auditor, one Warranty Tracking Project Assistant and one clerk.

The Inventory Department is responsible for safeguarding supplies worth $4.6 million. This includes all items stocked to support all building, rehabilitation, vacancy reduction and other programs at PHA. Compare us to an industrial super building supply center.

The Fixed Asset Department is responsible to know the location of all fixed assets over a value of $499.99. The inventory is maintained on the mainframe database and is updated as items are acquired, transferred or disposed. Warranty tracking accumulates information on all warranted items installed at PHA in its dwellings.
