The Philadelphia Housing Authority will open for business on
Wednesday, October 31st.
Message from PHA Interim Executive Director
Dear PHA Employee:
I hope that this e-mail finds you and your families
safe.
After the historic mega-hurricane Sandy blew through
the City of Philadelphia leaving much destruction in her wake, we
at the Philadelphia Housing Authority were blessed that we got
through the storm with our residents safe and very little damage to
our homes.
I truly believe that the reason we got through the
storm so well was due to PHA's emergency responders and essential
staff. They performed exceptionally well and ensured that we were
able to ride out the storm successfully. The preparation before the
storm and the execution of the emergency plan during the hurricane
were both phenomenal. I want to personally thank all of you who
came in during the storm for your heroic efforts. It was a job well
done!
While we continue to assess damage and clean up today, I want to
thank Mayor Nutter for his leadership and City workers for their
hard work to make sure all our fellow residents of Philadelphia got
through the storm.
Stay safe and I will see you all back tomorrow.
Kindest regards,
Kelvin A. Jeremiah, MA, MPA, PHM, CPPO
