About Career Training

Economic Development at PHA is more than putting up new buildings. It’s also about investing in people.

The mission of PHA's Community Resource Development and Social Services Department (CRDSS) is to help our clients through public and private partnerships.

Simply put, PHA seeks the involvement of the highest-quality organizations to provide services to residents. The staff of the CRDSS Department is responsible for developing partnerships and financial resources toward that end. In the 2001-2002 fiscal year, the grant-writing staff obtained 25 awards totaling $31 million.

PHA has established CRDSS Asset Managers in six site-based offices throughout Philadelphia. Each manager is responsible for a section of the city and works with community partners and residents from conventional public housing, scattered site housing, and the Housing Choice program to forge partnerships and implement new programs.
