Employees of the Philadelphia Housing Authority (PHA) delivered toys and holiday turkeys to some of PHAs neediest families, six days before Christmas. Despite the down economy, donations of toys and money to TSSI's annual Toys for Tots drive were the best ever, allowing PHA to bring Christmas to 145 families. In all, over 400 children received gifts.

PHA used its annual employee holiday party as a fundraiser to buy the toys. Companies that do business with PHA also contributed. Employees gathered at Tasker Homes in the citys Grays Ferry section to begin making their rounds throughout the city.

The toy and gift giveaway marked the third year for the event, a joint effort between PHA and Tenant Support Services, Inc., a non-profit subsidiary of PHA.
